If you can't forgive, how can God forgive you? Pretty harsh, but true!

How to Forgive in Business and Why

The point of these blog articles is to apply the rules and precepts that God has presented us with and use them to help guide and drive our businesses forward.

One of the biggest problems owning and running a business is being wound up by staff, suppliers or even customers, but we have to get to that "state" that we can naturally forgive.

One of the fundamentals that we all find hardest to deal with is forgiveness. The first point about the subject is that we must have a right attitude towards our neighbour otherwise God cannot work in us.

First, Forgive for Yourself!

You've probably heard these points before but for the record;

  • When you forgive you are also giving yourself permission to stop carrying around the pain of unforgiveness.
  • When you forgive you are acknowledging it is not the person, but what’s inside them that has offended you (i.e. something from the enemy).
  • When you forgive, you are stating that, what Jesus did on the cross was enough!
  • When you forgive you are releasing yourself from the chains that hold you back. These chains can be described as bitterness, anger, grief and so on.

From the old Testament to the new, God has been telling us to forgive others. It's mentioned 140 times, it clearly says in Matthew 6:14–15, “if you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your father will not forgive your sins”.

I am sure you've been aware of this scripture for some time, however, the impact it has on our businesses is profound.

What if I don't Want to?

If we refuse to forgive, God will not forgive us or bless us for that matter. By not blessing us because of being stiff necked, we open the door any number of attacks from the enemy.

The Bible says “the blessings of the Lord makes a person rich and he adds no sorrow to it (Proverbs 10: 22 NLT).

I'm not saying you can't generate income unless you forgive. Though there is a difference between generating income with and without sorrow added to it.

So, how are things with your business life? Are you experiencing problems?

How Many Times should I Forgive?

It is written in Matthew 18:22 when Jesus was asked by one of the disciples, "how many times should I forgive", he said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. That's right, 77x7 meaning every time.

I'm not attempting to present a sermon, far from it, but what I am doing is setting a foundation upon which we can all make progress in our businesses.

Undoubtedly this will lead on to affect other areas in our lives. That is why it is so important to attend a spiritual church when you can connect with fellow Christians and be assured that you're walking in the right direction.

The Most Basic Accusation from The Enemy

Imagine for one minute not having that series of emotions when you think of the person who upset you or offended you. I recently heard an explanation of the meaning “offend” it was presented as off- ending God's blessing. Cutting off Gods blessing.

The enemy uses these tactics to keep us in bondage in one form or another.

Easiest and simplest way to start addressing this area is to first ask the Holy Spirit to direct you and show you what you need to do. Praying for the people or persons who have upset you may seem awkward, but the reality is we're not to judge and only God can deal with whatever that someone has done to you.

Your instruction is to forgive and let God deal with judging them. It is not your responsibility to judge. Although you won't forget and you're not expected to invite them over for dinner, but the impact of forgiving someone is life changing.

We're Blessed to be a Blessing in Business

I'm not being selfish, but I will do anything that will bring me closer to God and further away from the aggro that is endemic in business. God has already blessed you and I by giving us the gift of leadership in business and has also given us the ability to earn wealth. It is our responsibility to act according to His word and follow through on the plans He has for us and experience His promises.

Stay Blessed :)

Path to Salvation

Because Jesus died on the cross and rose again, he paved a way for you so that you can be forgiven of all the things you have done wrong, and that you find the true meaning of life. Since you have lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain, etc., you have violated God’s law, which will result in punishment. But the good news is that God loves you and that He doesn’t want you to be condemned to hell, therefore He sent His son Jesus to take your punishment.

If you turn away from your transgressions and accept this forgiveness through baptism under water you will then receive the Holy Spirit with the sign of speaking in tongues. This means that sin, which separates you from God, will disappear and you will, by the Holy Spirit, experience a living relationship with God, as we read in the Bible.

A supernatural relationship starts here and continues in heaven. The only way to heaven is through Jesus, which you can accept today.
