A few weeks ago I was sent a link to a You Tube Channel called "Know Your Enemy".  I ignored it to begin with because as usual I was busy, like everyone else.  But there was something bothering me in the back of my mind about this, so I went back to it.

I clicked on the first video and there was a Scottish guy doing the intro and then a series of clips explaining what the video series was all about.  I stuck it out and waited, tapping my fingers, for the first video to start.

Within minutes it had me hooked.

It seemed that this was something I had wanted to find out about but didn't know where to start.  It's not a full-on Christian evangelical documentary, far from it, but an explanation about how religions evolved and spread, what influences are in world and where they emanate from.

For me, the series helped establish where I am in the Christian 'non-denominational' faith, and why there is so much confusion.

Like anything else in our lives, acquiring information takes time.  Unlike downloading information to a USB stick which takes seconds, we have to either read and or listen or watch.  There are 79 videos that range between four and fifteen minutes long.  In total there is ten hours of video material, so fortunately you can stop and start for as long as you want.

Do you really want to know this stuff?

I realise that there is so much confusion because of half-truths and outright lies that have been compounded over the years.

So many people think they know and then pass on that mis-information to others and if they come across as being believable, the receiver accepts it.  I know this having worked in Sales and Marketing for twenty five years.

So there's quite a lot of nonsense to cut through.

I believe that the majority of people need to get a handle on the historical aspect of faith through the ages before they will be genuinely open to understanding what true Christianity is about.

Knowing the facts

Let's face it, even President Obama is on record saying that Christians haven't got a great track record, yet he failed to mention that the Crusades were as a direct result of the Pope and the Roman Catholic church and not 'non denominational' Christians.  Not many people know that the Spanish Inquisition instigated by Rome was responsible for more Christian deaths than so-called heretics.

I really urge you to start watching the videos, they're a real eye-opener and a great way to start a new journey in faith.  There is so much we don't understand, but I tell you, if you're prepared to read and watch the things that I have, your eyes will be seriously opened and your life will never be the same.  Click on the image below to take a look at the video series.
