The Standard has been set up as a framework to provide support and encouragement to people who own their own businesses.

We are encouraging businesses everywhere to grasp what God has got planned for our lives as business owners.  The Bible is full of promises, however, because we fail act, these promises will not come to pass.

God wants us to prosper.  He wants us to succeed, yet we keep allowing the father of lies to steal our inheritance - that's satan for anyone who doesn't know.  It's time we set out the battlelines and made a stand.

Prosperity

Prosperity is is not just about wealth; it's about our health, our relationships and our spirituality - our walk with God.  He wants us firing on all cylinders - and to do that we must start working together.

God knows that we have to use and master our finances in order to be effective everywhere, not just in the marketplace.

So where do we start?  According to Joshua 1:8, we are told to "study this book of the law continually.  Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it.  Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do."

Got the T Shirt!

That's pretty clear to me.  I don't know about you, but I've got enough T shirts to prove that I have tried most things that "the world" tells us to do and I believe that the time has come to start wholeheartedly trusting in God and for us to be victorious in the marketplace and in our lives.

The focus for The Standard is the marketplace.  That's where most of us spend most of our time and therefore we encourage you to show your support by signing up to the Community section.

We are told to be salt and light; that especially means when we're at work.  Our conduct towards our staff affects our relationship with God and His blessing on us.

Are You A Business Pastor

Business owners, large and small, and CEOs, must approach their positions as a Pastor would their church.  As Christians we are probably the only Bible most people read, especially for our staff and co-workers.

What we do and how we're supposed to do it is not vague!  We have been given the most amazing guide book ever, we simply need to help each other discover God's promises for our economic activities and place Him at the centre.

We all have a part to play as participants in, and of the body of Christ.  We are told that we will lend to many nations, that we are the head and not the tail, that we are blessed.  The trouble is, the enemy has convinced us that we should settle for what we've got.

I'll Teach You a Lesson!

I have heard so many say that they believe God is teaching them a lesson for their poor financial situation or their predicament.  That they do not believe that God has or could forgive them.  Even that their lack of success is God's punishment.

We must put a stop to this.  If God is for us, who can be against us!  We, as parents, would never inflict such torment on our children and nor would God. We need to help our brothers and sisters in Christ to understand the correlation between being mislead by satan and referring to the book of Job as an example.  We must help each other release our faith in Christ who died for us and set us free to live in the blessing.

What Jesus did was enough.  He handed all authority and dominion to us on earth.  We can stand on scorpions and snakes and therefore we need to simply receive His gift.

We must stand on our faith and trust God for our success and not on the ways of the world.

Are you ready?

Jesus did not come in peace, he came with a sword.  We were not given a helmet, breastplate, shield, belt, sandals and a sword to go and play tiddlywinks!

Let's go out to the marketplace and reclaim our inheritance.
